Almost weekly news is coming out of Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati as the $400 million tan monolith takes shape on Reading Road at the north entrance to downtown and prepares for a 2013 opening under General Manager Kevin Kline. Bookings are being accepted for banquets, weddings, meetings and VIP parties beginning next spring. The 33,000 square feet of banquet space can be divided into as many as 11 rooms. Jobs for 400 in accounting, security and culinary leadership (managers, accomplished chefs) have been announced, and recruiting for cooks and servers is expected to begin soon. The casino has vowed to hire at least 90 percent of its 1,700 workers locally. Meanwhile, high demand has led its northern Ohio counterpart, Horseshoe Cleveland, to add 24 new tables to its gaming floor.
