The Western & Southern Open is happening this week, but thanks to COVID-19 it’s not the same. Instead of happening in its regular location in Mason, the tournament is instead being hosted in New York without the normal crowds. However, if you still need to scratch that tennis itch, there are several tennis courts throughout the Tristate just waiting for you to play.

For a free option, visit Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove’s eight tennis courts. The courts are open daily and don’t require a reservation.

If you live in one of Cincinnati’s city neighborhoods, you probably have a course close by. The Cincinnati Recreation Commission operates tennis courses at 25 locations, including Hyde Park, Linwood and North Avondale. Visit the commission’s website to identify all locations and to check on their hours and policies.

The region is also packed with tennis clubs and other local courts. The Cincinnati Tennis League provides information on many of these locations, including fees and membership dues. The site also details where you can take lessons and even where you can buy equipment.
