Backstage Event Center, located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, has something for everyone. Open to a wide range of events from birthday parties to weddings to business meetings, Backstage understands the importance of choices.

That’s why every event, no matter the size, is given a host of dining packages from which to choose, bar options and a list of additional services such as table size, bourbon tastings and champagne toasts.

Sales and Event Manager Kelly Schneider says every event is tailored to fit the individual needs of the customer. “Every event is customized,” she says. “I work directly with the host to create exactly what they are envisioning.”

Backstage offers breakfast, lunch and dinner packages for events at any time of day. All of the food is catered by Nicholson’s, the Scottish pub directly underneath the Event Center. Dining packages include family-style and buffet choices, as well as appetizer and refreshment menus for those whose events don’t require a full meal. Special pricing is available for children.

Hosts also have their choice of location. Backstage Event Center offers space in their second-floor location, above Nicholson’s and The Horse & Barrel Bourbon House, which features exposed brick, hardwood floors and a terrace that looks out over downtown. The room is equipped for those with audio-visual needs. A second patio on this floor offers views and includes a fountain.

The Horse & Barrel is also available and offers a full-sized bar that Schneider says is perfect for cocktail parties and private dinners.

While the food and locations certainly offer plenty of great choices, it is the service that Schneider believes makes Backstage Event Center special. “The night of your event, you have an on-site coordinator to make sure everything is perfect for you. We have a wonderful serving staff that is there to take care of you and your guests,” she says. Tavern Restaurant Group, which owns Backstage, has over 25 years of experience hosting private events, and nothing is overlooked. Gluten-free options are available upon request and vegetarian, vegan and special dietary menus can be customized. Guests can also decorate the event center and are not required to choose from a predetermined list of vendors for other services such as florists, DJs and bands. Backstage does provide preferred vendors, however, for guests who want these services.

At the end of the day, Schneider says she loves working with people to create the best event for them. “We love that every event is unique,” she says.
